Olefin is both stain and moisture resistant. Most outdoor carpet made from Olefin is UV resistant as well which helps the carpet retain its colors. There are several different grades of outdoor carpeting available. The cheapest (economy grade) is the classic grassy green looking stuff that I mentioned earlier. Economy grade outdoor carpet is suitable for application underneath covered outdoor areas such as patios. Its also the cheapest outdoor carpet. High grade grass carpet is a step up from the economy grade and can be applied in fully exposed outdoor areas. We highly recommend selecting a high grade grass carpet with a marine backing if the area youll be installing it in will receive even moderate amounts of moisture.
This type of deep pile carpet is ideally suited to bedrooms where they dont get a lot of footfall. However bear in mind that the deep pile can be harder to keep clean so it might not be the best choice if you have pets. Dirty paws and loose fur dont mix well with a deep pile carpet! For childrens bedrooms you are probably better off picking something a little more hard wearing as children are more likely to be making more use of the bedroom floor than adults as its the perfect space for playing. A patterned carpet will not show the dirt as much as a plain one and there are some brilliant carpets available made especially for childrens rooms. Theyre tough enough to stand up to the most boisterous games with designs that appeal to children from tiny tots right through to teenagers.
Wiping and cleaning all spills on your carpet right after it happens will prolong the life of your carpet and will surely keep it clean and stain free. In order to do away with smelly odors or hard to remove stains on the carpet clean spills immediately. Take some paper towels to remove the mess then blot the excess before cleaning the carpet any further. Exercise caution when taking the food dirt or animal waste off of the carpet so as not to rub it into other areas. As soon as any solid waste has been removed clean the spot using tap water. With the help of paper towel or clean cloth clean the area following a circular motion moving clockwise as well as counter-clockwise to ensure that any traces of stain or dirt is totally removed. Do not attempt to harshly scrub the carpet as this can harm the sensitive fibers of your carpet.
Carpeting has had a long and storied history that dates all the way back to the 3rd millennium BC nearly 4000 years ago. Found in Siberia the oldest surviving carpet is thought to have been created in the 5th century BC. Traditionally carpets were handmade composed of thousands of knots intricately woven together to form beautiful works of art too valuable to put on the floor and walk on. Sadly carpet technology remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years. The 1930s changed the carpet industry forever. A few entrepreneurs figured out a method of using a machine to make carpets and almost overnight they were an item that the emerging middle-class could splurge on. It wasnt until the late 1950s with the introduction of synthetic fibers that wall-to-wall carpeting in homes become common-place.
