So instead of having to lug around a multitude of radios you can program in your models all into one transmitter. Out of the box it comes in what is called + configuration. This means that the top arm of the + sign is forward. The + configuration is a little better suited to beginners as it will be more stable and respond a little slower to commands. As such it will be more difficult to lose control. You can easily change to X mode and this provides for a slightly more advanced flying experience. Personally I prefer X mode. If you switch to X mode I would recommend changing one of the props so that you have two props of one color in the front and two props of the other color in the back.
Next I needed to decide what the frame was going to look like. The size of the motors was determined by the size of the frame and the payload. In other words the size of the camera I wanted to use was a key factor to how strong the quad needed to be. What material to use for the frame? Carbon? Aluminum? Fiberglass? We always want to use the best at first but reality soon sets in. I watched the video of another quadcopter made out of wood that flew beautifully. Wood was inexpensive and strong enough to meet my needs and it only cost about $5! There are many ways to build the frame. It would take far too long to describe all the decisions I had to make. We need to get to the flying! In the end I decided that designing my own custom frame was the way to go. I wanted to be really proud of my quad.
Should we be using different bearings for our high-speed rotor blades which are used on the most common drone types like the Quadcopter designs? I believe so as these drones need to be very reliable long range and will have important cargo onboard as part of their important missions whether on the battlefield commercial application or delivering you a very important pizza or Amazon package. This got me thinking that not only is this relevant to todays military aircraft space flight propulsion future jet engines but also relevant for high-speed little motors that spin well over 10000 RPM. If we want these motors to last and if there are multiple motors per flying craft; MAV - Micro Air Vehicle UAS - Unmanned Aerial System or PFC - Personal Flying Craft (Air Taxi) then it makes sense to use such technology.
It should have an autopilot system intelligent orientation control and accessories such as a receiver and remote controller for easier navigation. There are extra minor features which are also important for many people such as live video streaming and the ability for one to control a GoPro quadcopter using a tablet or a smart phone. It should have a design that is highly integrated and attractive to catch the buyers eye. Software tuning and hardware mounting must have been done before delivery to spare the user any stress. It must have a setup that is fast and a control layout that is easy to maneuver. It is always relieving to receive a GoPro quadcopter that is pre-assembled after making an order. One only needs to charge its battery and put on the props.
