These awesome machines are not only accessible to everyone but they are easy to learn for everyone as well. You do not need to have any special skills or aeronautical experience but you will need some patience and of course time to practice. Many of these models today are flyable right out of the box but as with everything good in life you will need to practice and fully understand your new drone in order to get the most out of it. Its clear to see that I think quadcopters are awesome! So much fun such amazing technology and many with brilliant features that allow extreme aerobatics return to base features and of course the ability to come with or add cameras such as GoPros which open up a whole new world of vision and experiences. And lets not forget about the growing movement of drone racing! Now this really is an exciting new field!
There are some safety precautions to protect yourself as well as the machine from damaging itself and crash landing and also other people to get hurt. Remember to pull down the throttle to zero if you see your quadcopter going out of control and about to crash or collide with something. Always stay away from spinning propellers or do not handle a quadcopter when the propellers are rotating. This happens when youre trying to teach someone else to fly and then try to pick it up. When the transmitter is in someone elses hands and it is on the propellers can start spinning anytime so be very careful! Not everybody can fly a quadcopter with confidence because of a number of different controls its sophisticated design and intricate machinery. Even taking it off the ground and keeping it in the air without damaging objects that come in between is an art to master. Beginners especially find it really hard to fly a quadcopter without experiencing crash landing. Should we be using different bearings for our high-speed rotor blades which are used on the most common drone types like the Quadcopter designs? I believe so as these drones need to be very reliable long range and will have important cargo onboard as part of their important missions whether on the battlefield commercial application or delivering you a very important pizza or Amazon package. This got me thinking that not only is this relevant to todays military aircraft space flight propulsion future jet engines but also relevant for high-speed little motors that spin well over 10000 RPM. If we want these motors to last and if there are multiple motors per flying craft; MAV - Micro Air Vehicle UAS - Unmanned Aerial System or PFC - Personal Flying Craft (Air Taxi) then it makes sense to use such technology.
If the Kv of the motors is too low you may need to increase the number of series cells in your battery pack. That is what happened in my saucer quadcopter. Three cells in series were not enough to provide the power I wanted. When I switched to a 4S battery pack it came alive. This is also a highly demanding application with constant high current flows. I needed a quality battery with at least a 30C rating. If you lose power while flying a quadrotor you are dead. It is not like an airplane where you can glide to a safe landing. With a quad you need to keep a close watch on the flying time and land long before the battery runs out. Dont try and beat a flying duration record! A low battery on-board alarm might be a wise investment too.
